About Accretional
We are on a mission to create the technical foundation for superintelligence.
Brilliant is the first step: the tool we will use to build it with you.
Our Mission
Everybody at Accretional is (at least partially) a software engineer. We believe that superintelligence, at least initially, will have an AI system for software engineering at its core. We aim to build that system.
Our thesis is that the best software infrastructure for humans is the same as for AI. As developers, it's obvious that there is major room for improvement in the tools and systems we use to build our own software. So that's our opportunity:
• Creating a great Development Platform solves our own problems
• Almost all developers also face those problems, so our products can help them
• We believe our unique approach to superintelligence will deliver value even early on
• If we succeeed, we can make sure superintelligence belongs to everybody
We're not doing this for an exit or liquidity event. Customers are not just a means to an end for us. We take this seriously: we turn down venture capital and hold back launches if we think they might ultimately detract from delivering on innovation or superintelligence. We intend to go all the way.

Our Values
We consider it our duty to provide the best possible development platform to our customers, even if it means solving really hard problems, and doing things nobody has ever done before.
The differences between Just Works and Awful are the little things: attention to detail, interactions between components, tech debt. We hold ourselves to a high standard because it's what we want our own vendors to do. And we don't want to waste your time with products and features that we wouldn't use ourselves.
We'd rather focus our efforts on making it than faking it until we do. And we'd rather create technology, instead of trying to portray ourselves as a generic 21st century technology corporation. We're weird and we like to have fun, just like you and every other human.
Trust isn't about marketing, branding, or selling our trustworthiness. We think ideally we could just consistently demonstrate our trustworthiness through our actions, because that's the only way to deserve to be trusted.
Our Milestones
Company Founded
Fred Weitendorf left Google, incorporated, and started building.
Brilliant Workflows
Initial attempts at bespoke workflows inspired a pivot towards a generic workflow system, running for the first time in November. We chose not to launch and scale up despite the hype, so we could continue building towards our long term vision.
Statue
We created a static site generator in Svelte and released it as an open source npm tool called Statue, because we wanted a svelte static site generator to exist. We saw an opportunity to integrate it with Brilliant so our customers could make sites easily too.
Brilliant
Brilliant for the first time was able to run in our own serverless cloud container platform and display in the browser, complete with authentication and usage-based pricing.
Beta
We've begun our public beta!
